Duckies

Boston's Public Garden is beautiful. I couldn't help but think of a childhood spent feeding ducks at Aiken's Hopelands Gardens -- nothing like a little nostalgia paired with a nice afternoon walk.

Best of all, check out the bright purple racing stripes.

Excellent Boiled Peanuts/Maine Sea Salt
John and I just got back from a weekend in Boston. It was amazing. We had excellent food and saw a pair of our closest friends. It was just what we needed.

If you find yourself there and are in the mood for Nouveau Southern (We, of course, can never turn that down), you should visit Hungry Mother.

Lisa and Miles took us to another amazing restaurant: Neptune Oyster. If you want raw goodness, this is the way to go. Their list was local and complex, offering varying salt levels
and finishes. It was so good. As if that wasn't enough, I followed it with a buttery Lobster Roll that puts all prior seafood experience to shame. I'll be going back as soon as possible.

Currently

I have accepted and become obsessed with the potential of Japanese masking tape. Expect gratuitous cards from me with taped designs.

John and I have some interesting things in the works, although we're not sure which will be a "go." Cross your fingers!

Tons of wedding planning going on, and it's so fun. An old typewriter, our silhouettes, and wooden postcards all play roles in the next project.

Scissors and Glue

Hi Friends.

John and I are having a really great time thinking about our wedding. Plans are underway for save-the-dates, a fun band (!!), and lots of other do-it-yourself touches. This is a project I finished a couple of months ago, after finding the inspiration on Once Wed. It was so fun to formally ask my closest friends to stand beside me while I say my vows to John. We can't wait!

And it turns out that in the 20 years that have passed since 3rd grade, I totally forgot how much fun paper dolls are.

xoxo,
       Lauren

Re: Ellen Parsons

If given the choice, I would carry this bag and wear these glasses while walking the streets of New York and unveiling the secrets of High Star Security Corporation. Meanwhile, Patty Hewes would wonder if I was her best friend, worst enemy, or simply...her fashion superior.
