Minimalist Jewelry

Paired with my love for minimalism in fashion is my love for minimalist jewelry. Tiny, subtle pieces with clean lines that never come off are my favorite. John recently fed this addiction with these Kathleen Whitaker tiny staple earrings, a Christmas gift, and this tiny L necklace. It's a sweet story - I've been a fan of Maya Brenner for a long time, but we saw the L in person on our honeymoon and loved it. Eight months later, and the week of our 3-year anniversary, John pulled the tiny box out of his pocket after I got some good news at work.

Both of these artists are based in LA. If you're particularly proud of your home state, Maya gives you a chance to wear it around your neck, and she also recently did a Stella and Dot collaboration that fans of that brand might notice. Enjoy!

This October Week

I made a wedding website. We have a lot of friends who are super organized and good at planning travel way ahead of time, hence laurenjohnwedding.blogspot.com

OLAS Photography

I came home from work late, and John had this wonderful roasted Chickpea salad waiting. With brown rice on the side. And red wine. A perfect Lauren meal marry me right now why don't you.

I fell in love with a company tonight called 31 Bits. They are changing women's lives. Read about the amazing programs they have developed in Uganda here, and put some sweet faces with the project here. I'm so taken with their product, their innovative approach, and the way they are equipping these women. Love!

Spring Cold

Alas, the flip-flopping weather that is Spring in Cleveland has given me a nasty Cold.
Luckily, I didn't have to work today, so instead,

I'm spending quality Couch Time with Herbie,

catching up on Glee,

and eating popcorn for dinner.

I hope to feel better soon, but Herbie doesn't agree.
He'd rather have me on the couch forever?

f1nneran

While in Baltimore, I searched for local jewelry artists to buy gifts for friends, and f1nneran is one that I've used several times. She keeps me coming back.

She also offers great customer service; she once sent me free (adorable) earrings when I had to wait a little too long for my order!

For my best friends - 3 peas in a pod.

If John gave me this, I would melt on the spot.

Just to be romantic, the other disc says the same en Francais.

So very sweet.

For my much-loved, cat-rescuing aunt.

Cheers!
